Control Peptide for 029761.CXCR4 (fusin) is a member in the seven-transmembrane domain G-protein-coupled chemokine receptor family. The full-length cDNA was isolated from a human spleen cDNA library. Its ligand is chemokine stroma-derived factor (SDF). CXCR4 has been shown to be the coreceptor for HIV-1 binding to CD4 through the viral envelope glycoprotein gp120. In other cases, CXCR4 can function as the only receptor for the interaction of HIV-2 with CD4 and host cells. A mouse monoclonal antibody (12G5) to CXCR4 has been shown to inhibit HIV infectivity and HIV-induced syncytium.Source:Synthetic peptide corresponding to aa18 from mouse CXCR4.Applications:Suitable for use in ELISA and Antibody Blocking. Other applications not tested.Recommended Dilution:Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.Storage and Stability:May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
