This gene encodes a member of the calcium dependent lectinnsuperfamily of type II transmembrane receptors. Expression of thenencoded protein is induced upon activation of T lymphocytes, andnmay play a role in proliferation. Furthermore, the protein may actnto transmit signals in natural killer cells and platelets.nAlternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants.
