Stem Cell Factor (SCF) is a cytokine made by fibroblasts and endothelial cells. SCF binds to the receptor known as c-Kit (CD117) and is thought to play a critical role in the maintenance and surivial of hematopoietic stem cells. Human SCF shows no activity on murine cells, but murine and rat SCF are active on human cells. Recombinant murine SCF produced in E. coli is a single, non-glycosylated polypeptide chain containing 164aa and having a molecular mass of 18.3kD (P20826).Biological Activity: The activity is determined by the dose-dependent proliferation of human TF-1 cells and is typically <10ng/ml.Amino Acid Sequence:KEICGNPVT DNVKDITKLV ANLPNDYMIT LNYVAGMDVL PSHCWLRDMV IQLSLSLTTL LDKFSNISEG LSNYSIIDKL GKIVDDLVLC MEENAPKNIK ESPKRPETRS FTPEEFFSIF NRSIDAFKDF MVASDTSDCV LSSTLGPEKD SRVSVTKPFM LPPVA Storage and Stability:Lyophilized powder may be stored at -20°C.
